Fall filled with extraordinary learning, activities, and meet-ups all in the name of the Horse.

We have a new barn owner in town. The re-known Lacy’s Arabians Ranch is now Hunt's Horse Ranch with owner Bernadette Hunt busy making enhancements around the property. Late October I joined the tack sale at Hunt’s Horse Ranch with a Masterson Method information booth and some demo time in the arena. Fieldwork student, Linda Tarrico joined me as we demonstrated some of the gentle bodywork techniques of the Masterson Method on Soriah, Bernadette’s lovely mare who came with the ranch.

Our audience was attentive and inquisitive with many engaging questions about the techniques and the horse’s responses.

We couldn't have asked for a more delightful and expressive mare for this demo as she openly released her tension throughout our time with her. If you are looking for a new barn to home your horse, I strongly encourage you to check out Hunt’s Horse Ranch in Garden Valley.

A few days later, Mike and I were invited to enjoy dinner in old-town Placerville with my fellow MMCPs, Becky Mertens and Sean Sprinkel. Both just happened to be in town for various adventures and ran into each other in a local bookshop. This fortuitous run-in led to a delicious meal and great conversation about many things horsey at the Placerville Public House.

Once again, I was off to Gil Hedley’s Nerve Tour. This time in Grass Valley, for an incredible dive into the inner world of the body and the Nerve Tree. My first experience attending this had unexpected yet profound effects on my work with the horse. My sense of connection through touch was vitalized without thought. I know that taking this in again has opened my intuitive awareness in ways that are beyond description. I was thrilled to be joined by my C-Horse Ranch barn buddy and Masterson Method student, Trinia Dzurny. We took in the unveiling of the popular Vegas Nerve as we witnessed it embrace the heart and entwine with sympathetic systems as it wove downward through the internal world of the body. We will have much to talk about when we share our experiences back in the stall with the horse.

My season of learning continues as I am off to South Carolina to attend my first course at Equus Soma. With trepidation that my emotions can stay in place, I am looking forward to this opportunity to be guided under the tent of the beautiful horse and see how everything is intricately connected.
